Homeopathy
Developed in Germany in the early1800's by Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, homeopathy
is a system of healing based on the principle that "like cures like".
Highly concentrated, specially prepared, elemental substances, which in a healthy
person, produce certain sets of symptoms, are used to treat health conditions
characterized by these same sets of symptoms. By stimulating the body's own
natural healing powers and immunity, homeopathic medicines can provide gentle,
lasting solutions to a wide variety of health concerns and are particularly
valuable in the treatment of depression, anxiety and grief.
Homeopathy is widely used in Europe, where there are entire hospitals devoted
to its practice. In fact, both the British Royal Family and the Pope have selected
homeopathic practitioners as their primary physicians.
In North America, homeopathy has been replaced by the profit-driven system of
commercial, allopathic medicine most people are familiar with. This, however,
is a relatively recent development. The Universities of Michigan, Iowa and Minnesota
maintained homeopathic medical colleges well into the early part of this century.
It has only been about 70 years since Genessee Hospital in Rochester, Massachusetts
General in Boston, Millard Filmore Hospital in Buffalo, Middleton State hospital
and nearly 100 other North American hospitals made the transition from homeopathy
to commercial, allopathic medicine.
Safe, successful treatment with homeopathic preparations requires extremely
precise diagnosis by the naturopathic physician and a high degree of commitment
on the part of the patients. Most of the homeopathic medications used at NaturoMedicTM.com
must be delivered sublingually; that is, they enter the body by being slowly
dissolved under the patient's tongue several times a day. While most of these
medications have little or no taste, they do require that you abstain from coffee,
tea, tobacco, toothpaste or mouthwash, and all food for at least 15 minutes
before and after you place the tablets or drops under your tongue.
